Revolutions and Social Networks
My colleague Scott McClure pointed me to this article a couple months ago by Malcom Gladwell about the limitations of social networks in facilitating political revolution. It seems freshly relevant again this past week or two with events in Tunisia and Egypt. I think his point is tangentially reinforced by the fact that apparently when Egyptian authorities turned off the networks, more people spilled into the streets to protest.
